The Morrison Center is in search of a Speech & Language Pathologist to become an integral part of our diverse and multidisciplinary team, which includes educators, behavioral health professionals, psychologists, social workers, and various therapists.

As a Speech & Language Pathologist, you will have the opportunity to work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), feeding and swallowing techniques, articulation, language development, fluency disorders, pragmatic language skills, and auditory processing.

This role involves providing essential services to a varied student demographic, ranging from ages 5 to 22, who present with a wide array of challenges, including but not limited to:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Apraxia of Speech
  • Dysarthria
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Down Syndrome
  • Nonverbal/Verbal Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Dysfluency
  • Epilepsy
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Deaf/Blindness
  • Dysphagia
  • Genetic Disorders

This is a year-round position, with therapists working throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. The school calendar incorporates 22 vacation days and 9 holidays, along with 8 additional discretionary paid time off days accrued annually.

Qualifications
State licensure as a Speech/Language Pathologist in Maine is mandatory.
Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is also required.

Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans are available with minimal employee contributions. Life insurance, as well as short and long-term disability coverage, is provided at no cost to the employee.

Educational Requirements
As stipulated by state regulations (Maine) and national standards (ASHA).

Salary
Compensation is based on experience.
