Automotive Technician

UPS is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
- Work with a variety of propulsion systems, including diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, using diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, with varying shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shifts, Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules.
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
- Possesses a full complement of personal hand tools.
- Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred.
- Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis.
- Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs.
Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
Works cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
