Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our team at Fond Du Lac County, WI. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing a range of social services to individuals and families, including needs assessment, crisis intervention, case planning, advocacy, and community resource development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide planned and unplanned services to consumers, establishing a professional working relationship to strengthen their ability to cope with life situations.
  2. Complete administrative duties in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Determine the range of services needed by individuals and families, explaining services and discussing consumer rights and responsibilities.
  4. Establish and maintain a working knowledge of community, county, state, and independent resources available to agency consumers, utilizing these resources as appropriate.
  5. Refer consumers to other agencies or services, cooperating with such agencies in serving consumer needs.
  6. Deliver direct services and programs in compliance with unit, agency, and county policies.
  7. Participate in individual conferences and team meetings, contributing to collaborative and engaging relationships with other service professionals.
  8. Conduct thorough assessments of families to determine and identify any child safety concerns, ensuring child safety through continuous assessment and adjustment of safety plans.
  9. Ensure direct service meets overall Wisconsin legislative statutes and DCF standards, policy, and procedures.
  10. Complete and document all necessary paperwork in a professional and timely manner, including assessments, safety plans, court-related reports, and other related paperwork.
  11. Provide court testimony as needed, maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment in confrontational and stressful situations.
  12. Develop collaborative and engaging relationships with other service professionals and supports, referring clients to other agencies and community resources while maximizing informal supports.
  13. Provide social work services that are strength-based and client-centered, respecting and promoting the dignity and worth of all individuals.
  14. Work independently, making sound timely decisions and determining when supervision is necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with Social Work Certification, or eligible for Social Work Certification to be completed within 1 year of employment.
  • At least two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Competent computer skills and computer experience.
  • Must successfully pass caregiver and criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and unlimited access to a personal vehicle.
  • A minimum of $250,000/$500,000 auto liability insurance coverage verified upon hire and at renewal by providing a copy of the declaration page of your policy from your insurance carrier.
  • Willingness to utilize personal vehicle as necessary to perform job duties and responsibilities, including transport of agency consumers if necessary.
