Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Enviri Corporation. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing defective mobile equipment and mechanical/hydraulic equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing equipment. You will also troubleshoot, repair, install, and service compressors and other process equipment, perform inspections, installations, and alignments of equipment, and problem-solve equipment failures. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment using knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography. You will also be required to safely use hand tools, power tools, calibration, and measuring tools to complete job tasks, read machine drawings, blueprints, pipe diagrams, and flow sheets, lubricate and clean parts, perform welding repairs as needed using arc, wire, tig, and gas welds, use cutting torches to cut and layout basic designs, perform accurate and timely data entry on all services performed, and perform in-depth skills-wire rope applications and reaving. You will also be required to use and repair overhead crane and lifting apparatus, initiate purchase orders for parts, follow all safety rules and policies, immediately report any accident/incident, and assist in generating solutions to resolve issues. You will also be required to assist in training of co-workers as needed, assist with general clean-up of work area, and perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
  1. Diagnoses and repairs defective mobile equipment and mechanical/hydraulic equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing equipment.
  2. Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and services compressors and other process equipment.
  3. Performs inspections, installations, and alignments of equipment and problem-solves equipment failures.
  4. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment using knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography.
  5. Safely uses hand tools, power tools, calibration, and measuring tools to complete job tasks.
  6. Reads machine drawings, blueprints, pipe diagrams, and flow sheets.
  7. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  8. Performs welding repairs as needed using arc, wire, tig, and gas welds.
  9. Uses cutting torches to cut and layout basic designs.
  10. Performs accurate and timely data entry on all services performed.
  11. Performs in-depth skills-wire rope applications and reaving.
  12. Uses and repairs overhead crane and lifting apparatus.
  13. Initiates purchase orders for parts.
  14. Follows all safety rules and policies, immediately reports any accident/incident, and assists in generating solutions to resolve issues.
  15. Assists in training of co-workers as needed.
  16. Assists with general clean-up of work area.
  17. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.


Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Proficient in personal computer.
  • People leadership skills and ability to lead by example. Implements and promotes company policies.
  • Ability to perform well in a 'TEAM' environment.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects.
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
  • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.
  • Ability to perform work while lying on the back.
  • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to operate various size hand tools.
  • Ability to tolerate working in cramped quarters and at heights.
  • Ability to tolerate swing shift work schedule.
  • Ability to work with greases and oils used to maintain equipment.
  • Ability to tolerate work in all outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work in high noise areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures from 0° F to 120° F.
