Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our team at St. Peter's Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and procedure requirements
  • Interpret doctors' scanning instructions accurately
  • Assess patient risk for allergic reactions to contrast media
  • Review lab values prior to contrast media administration
  • Explain effects and potential side effects of contrast media to patients
  • Start IVs and administer IV and oral contrast
  • Monitor patients for reactions to contrast media
  • Determine the need for and select supplies, equipment, and positioning devices
  • Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients regarding exams and procedures
  • Educate patients about radiation risks and benefits
  • Position patients for optimal imaging
  • Operate CT scan equipment and perform quality assurance checks
  • Select appropriate radiation exposure factors and use lead protective devices
  • Control access to radiation exposure areas
  • Obtain and prepare supplies, medication, and equipment for sterile and specialized procedures
  • Perform procedural timeouts and ensure patient safety
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in department projects, such as ACR accreditation and quality initiatives
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and modalities to ensure smooth patient care
  • Set a positive example and promote a positive work environment
Requirements
