Job Summary

US Cargo, a leading provider of specialized transportation services, is seeking a highly skilled Non CDL Straight Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by making pick-ups and deliveries in a non-CDL 24'-26' Straight Truck.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation of goods to customers, adhering to all federal regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload freight, either individually or with assistance from dockworkers, using material handling equipment as needed.
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight, as well as securing freight through strapping or other methods.
  • Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions, ensuring compliance with all federal requirements.
  • Comply with all federal regulations regarding the transportation and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records for compliance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform dockwork duties, including loading and unloading freight according to DOT requirements, sorting and securing items on trucks or in the dock area.
  • Use common material handling tools, such as carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and tow motors, to move and secure freight.
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, twist, carry, bend, reach, and lift both above and below waist level, as well as perform heavy lifting.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 21 years of age.
  • A minimum of 1 year verifiable experience driving a non-commercial motor vehicle similar to the type utilized by US Cargo.
  • Pass a US Cargo driving test administered by an approved US Cargo trainer or designee.
  • Hold a valid driver's license issued by the State in which you reside, with no record of a driving license suspension or revocation covering the last 36-month period.
  • Meet all federal requirements for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
  • A negative result from a pre-employment drug screen.
  • A negative controlled substance and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three-year period.
  • No open violations showing in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
