VSS International, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL/Slurry Truck Operator to join our team. As a key member of our Pavement Preservation team, you will be responsible for operating a slurry truck and ensuring the production of high-quality pavement materials.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a Slurry Truck: Perform daily pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle in accordance with DOT and company policies, control the output of materials to produce material according to required specifications, and ensure company safety rules are always followed.
- Supervise Squeegee Employees: Direct squeegee employees to produce a perfect finished product, perform minor repairs to paving machine and box as needed, and assist and direct the paving crew with hand work and clean up as needed.
- Communicate with Team Members: Communicate with line drivers to ensure no gutter spills occur and communicate all safety, quality, or production issues to the superintendent.
- Meet Production Goals: Meet with the superintendent daily to establish a production plan for the day and ensure that production goals are met.
- Class A Commercial License: Must possess a valid Class A Commercial License.
- Commercial Driving Skills: Must have excellent commercial driving skills and attention to detail.
- Supervisory Experience: Must be able to supervise and direct squeegee employees in a professional manner.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Experience: 1-3 years of work on a slurry crew.
- Work Conditions: Works alone and with others, works in outside weather conditions subjecting the incumbent to extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Exposure to Hazards: Exposed to fumes/odors/dirt/dust/heat/cold/noise/wetness and humidity, and vibration.
- Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time in one place, ability to lift up to 75lbs with assistance, and 50lb without assistance.
