Charge Capture Specialist Ambulatory Surgery

Southwest General Health Center, a 352-bed community hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, is seeking a Charge Capture Specialist for its Ambulatory Surgery Department.

We are certified as a Level III Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center, and have been serving our community for over 100 years. Our hospital partners with University Hospitals and other local community organizations to provide a full range of services.

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely charge capture, billing, and adjudication of claims in accordance with standard billing policies and reimbursement principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing patient account records and third-party payer issues, and developing procedures to avoid future delays in payments and/or prevent denials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate proper charge capture, billing, and adjudication of claims
  • Review patient account records and third-party payer issues
  • Develop procedures to avoid future delays in payments and/or prevent denials
  • Work under general supervision of the Revenue Integrity Manager
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in healthcare finance, medical records/facility coding, compliance, and/or revenue cycle
  • Coding License/Certification or enrollment into program with plans on attaining license within 9 months of hire date
