Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Little Friends. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in implementing the therapeutic treatment program for students with Autism spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and support to the classroom teacher in implementing the therapeutic treatment program.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to respond to individual behavior problems and implement crisis intervention procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation of procedures for confrontation, avoidance, escape, evasion, and physical management with students weighing a minimum of 75 pounds.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain Paraprofessional certification or Sub license.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age, High School Diploma or GED, and one of the following:
    • Passing scores on the ACT WorkKeys assessments
    • 60 semester hours of coursework
    • Associate's degree or higher

Benefits

Working Conditions

  • 30 hours per week for the academic school year
  • Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 2:45pm

Salary

$20.00 /hour
