Job SummaryDodge City Community College is seeking a qualified History Instructor to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of classes, engaging in learning support and instructional practices, and mentoring students to achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of classes, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid delivery modes.
- Develop and implement assessment measures to achieve course, program, and college learning outcomes.
- Mentor students to provide a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Social Sciences Division and participate in college committees.
- Develop and implement new courses to curriculum in various delivery modalities.
- Organize and maintain student records and submit reports as required.
- Participate in assessment of student learning and assist with the development of the term class schedule and college catalog.
- Masters History or a related area with 18 graduate hours in History.
- Thorough knowledge of content area and fluency in English language.
- Effective communication skills and ability to convey ideas to others in a clear and understandable manner.
- Critical analytical and evaluative skills, organizational skills, and ability to create and maintain a schedule.
- Literacy in modes of delivery and ability to think, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to effectively maintain teaching schedules, organize time, and execute duties in the delivery and support of high-quality instruction.
- Computer skills and ability to use technology in the classroom.
- Demonstrated teaching experience with underprepared/under-resourced students and a valid Kansas driver's license.
- Content emphases in American and World History.
- Qualifications to teach additional academic disciplines.
- Experience teaching at the college level and commitment to student learning/success.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) and ability to develop and implement new courses to curriculum in various delivery modalities.
