Job Title: Principal Engineer, Systems Design Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced storage systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with expertise in storage systems, computer architecture, and high-speed communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for the development of storage systems, including mechanical chassis, hard drives, fans, power supplies, firmware, and printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Develop system specifications, including mechanical, electrical, functional, and environmental requirements for all major subsystems and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product management, program management, verification engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Lead system integration activities, oversee root cause resolution of specification and design defects, and provide mentorship to other SE engineers.
Requirements:
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 8+ years of experience with storage and server product systems design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of computer architecture, components, and high-speed communication protocols.
  • Experience with systems integration activities, hard drive and flash-based devices, and server management.
  • Expertise in board-level and system-level troubleshooting, and knowledge of test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving and innovation, with strong team player and communication skills.
