Transplant Hospital Unit Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transplant Hospital Unit Coordinator to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a key member of our hospital unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the nursing station, including reception and clerical functions.
- Coordinate patient care activities with other departments, including programming and answering call lights, arranging transport services, and stocking supplies and forms.
- Assist with audits, admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.
- Support unit leadership with additional tasks as assigned.
- Interact and maintain communications with multidisciplinary teams.
- Recent experience working in a similar setting.
- Ability to utilize relevant medical terminology.
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service to the target audience.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care as prescribed by relationship-based care practices.
- Ability to demonstrate accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to support performance improvement and evidence-based practice within the scope of practice.
- Basic understanding of technology as it pertains to federal regulations to patient privacy.
- Experience with using electronic medical records system.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
This position requires the ability to work occasional overtime to cover staffing shortages, work day, evening, or night shift as required, and work in an area where smoking is prohibited.
This is a critical position, as defined by UC policy and local procedures, and as such, employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check(s), including but not limited to criminal record history background check(s).
This position is designated as a mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy, and employment is contingent on compliance with applicable policies, procedures and training requirements.
