Job Summary

The Hydrovac Laborer is a crucial member of our team at E&M Services, LLC, responsible for supporting the Hydrovac operator in the successful completion of hydro excavation projects. This role involves working with Hydrovac trucks, assisting with utility line exposure, debris removal, trenching, and digging, as well as providing general labor support to the yard, shop, and site crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Hydrovac operator in the completion of hydro excavation projects, including utility line exposure, debris removal, trenching, and digging.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain company vehicles and equipment, collaborating closely with mechanics and supervisors.
  • Securely transport equipment needed for the job, adhering to company policy and DOT regulations.
  • Utilize required safety and work equipment, ensuring all equipment and PPE are inspected and regularly cleaned or maintained for proper function and safe use.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis and Pre-Job Safety Meetings to identify potential hazards at work locations.
  • Complete and submit Field Tickets or other relevant documents, accurately recording work time and job performed.
  • Communicate effectively with field management regarding jobs, hazards, needs, and employee concerns.
  • Comply with all company and location Safety/DOT policies to work safely in potentially hazardous environments.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of basic underground utilities and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating equipment and tools commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess a professional, motivated attitude.
  • Safe operation of all vehicles and equipment involved in Hydrovac work.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office, email, timekeeping programs, and invoicing.
  • Effective communication skills, including typing, speaking, reading, writing, and hearing.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a drug screen, MVR check, and background check, as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing, as well as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate industrial machinery. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required and be able to lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a potentially hazardous environment, with frequent exposure to loud noises, inclement weather, and hazardous materials. Long work hours and weekend work are common.
