About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Natural Language Model Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our search quality group, you will be responsible for developing and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) that power our e-commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends and patterns
  • Design and implement metrics that reflect customer experience
  • Invent techniques to improve LLM capabilities such as understanding natural language queries, questions, and conversations
  • Test ideas in controlled experiments
  • Train, fine-tune, and align LLMs with business requirements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, or related field, or 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, scipy, etc., and large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc., would be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
