Job Overview
">This is a great opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join our team as a Pre-Admission Testing/Pre-Op Nurse (PAT). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for planned procedures, obtaining medical history, administering medications, and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
">- Observe facility policies, procedures, and processes;
- Prepare patients for planned procedures;
- Obtain patient's medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions;
- Carry out physician orders;
- Observe patient's medical condition, including vital signs, affect, pain, and symptoms requiring further evaluation and treatment, and escalating concerns to the physician;
- Communicate with patient and care team in an effective manner;
- Relay information to appropriate personnel concerning patient's condition;
- Educate patient, including providing instructions in preparation for discharge;
- Administer medications per physician order;
- Document care appropriately;
- Supervise non-licensed personnel as assigned;
- Maintain appropriate supplies and medication;
- Assist with procedure preparation and performance;
- Assist in medical records maintenance;
- Utilize safe practices and controls to protect patients and self from infection and exposure;
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times;
- Maintain patient rights;
- Maintain positive and effective interpersonal relationships;
- Report and document any unusual occurrences and incidents in a timely manner;
- Utilize proper body mechanics while lifting;
- Serve as clinical resource;
- Demonstrate professional accountability;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
">- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
- Current, active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida;
- BLS and ACLS certified;
- Current Pre-Op/PACU experience (within past 2 years) preferred;
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
