Control Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Brunel, working on exciting projects within the Oil & Gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support modernization initiatives related to control systems, including specification, design, testing, and documentation.
- Execute software upgrades and configurations for Honeywell control systems, ensuring regular maintenance and backups.
- Assist in the development and upkeep of the Process Control Network (PCN) for large-scale refinery operations.
- Contribute to Microsoft Windows network administration and design efforts.
- Implement security measures, including patches and antivirus solutions.
- Configure SCADA connections and communication protocols for third-party devices linked to the Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control system hardware and network performance.
- Understand the software applications' requirements within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and control systems network.
- Monitor performance indicators to enhance the efficiency of the PCN.
- Establish standards and procedures for managing the PCN effectively.
- Engage in root cause analysis for equipment failures and contribute to incident investigations.
- Share insights and best practices across company refineries and with other teams.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Honeywell DCS systems such as TDC3000, C300, TPS, and Experion PKS.
- Strong technical skills and experience in the refinery or related industries.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems maintenance and upgrade strategies.
- Field instrumentation experience in refinery settings.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking and switch/router management.
- Knowledge of various Logic Solvers (PLC, etc.).
- A strong desire to learn and develop skills in process control and network technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a diverse team environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to responsibilities.
- Ability to manage complex tasks efficiently.
- Working knowledge of SCADA interfaces.
