Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Riverside Health System. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and record pertinent clinical measures, including visual acuities, slit lamp exams, and diagnostic tests.
  • Facilitate patient education through brochures and videos.
  • Prepare prescription refills for physician review and signature.
  • Assist with preparing referral and dictation letters.
  • Return calls to patients and pharmacies with medical questions.
  • Participate in cost containment and waste reduction efforts.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for cost savings and waste reductions.
  • Communicate and document essential information to physicians and team members.
  • Prepare referral follow-up letters and dictations for referring physicians.
  • Participate in new employee onboarding to enhance retention and reduce turnover of staff.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Program Graduate, Optical Tech (Preferred)
  • 1 year Ophthalmology/Optometry clinical experience (Preferred)
