Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Riverside Health System. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and record pertinent clinical measures, including visual acuities, slit lamp exams, and diagnostic tests.
- Facilitate patient education through brochures and videos.
- Prepare prescription refills for physician review and signature.
- Assist with preparing referral and dictation letters.
- Return calls to patients and pharmacies with medical questions.
- Participate in cost containment and waste reduction efforts.
- Identify and recommend solutions for cost savings and waste reductions.
- Communicate and document essential information to physicians and team members.
- Prepare referral follow-up letters and dictations for referring physicians.
- Participate in new employee onboarding to enhance retention and reduce turnover of staff.
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Program Graduate, Optical Tech (Preferred)
- 1 year Ophthalmology/Optometry clinical experience (Preferred)
