Key Responsibilities
Effective Communication
- Exhibits proficiency in medical terminology and procedures.
- Engages in consultations with fellow healthcare professionals, including supervising physicians and specialists.
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for assigned patients.
- Assesses and interprets patient data, considering age-specific needs.
- Conducts thorough patient evaluations, including health history, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretations.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all patient interactions and care provided in the electronic medical record.
- Monitors patient responses to treatment and suggests modifications as necessary.
- Performs medical procedures under the supervision of the attending physician.
- Initiates emergency interventions as needed until a physician arrives.
- Coordinates referrals and prepares patients for procedures, including education and positioning.
- Assists in surgical procedures, including exposure and closure of wounds.
- Develops discharge plans for surgical patients.
Clinical Development and Improvement
- Engages in initiatives aimed at enhancing practice quality.
- Contributes to the formulation of policies and procedures.
- Participates in healthcare quality committees and assurance programs.
- Acts as a liaison for nursing and medical staff regarding patient management.
Compliance and Safety
- Reports safety incidents promptly and participates in safety training.
- Adheres to state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintains up-to-date certifications and licenses as required.
- Completes mandatory training and job-specific modules in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies - Required
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program and national certification - Required
Certifications and Licenses
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) - Required
Arizona State Licensure as a Physician Assistant - Required
BLS and ACLS certifications - Required
Fingerprint Clearance Card application number - Required upon hire
Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required within 90 days of hire
Experience
