Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:


ASM Global, a leading provider of public assembly facilities, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC). As a key member of our operations crew, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on our managed buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform daily inspections of facility systems to detect malfunctions and needed repairs
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance on sprinkler systems, engine rooms, diesel generators, message boards, monitors, elevators, air-handling and HVAC systems, and pumps
  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, flooring, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glass repair, roofing, and construction
  • Provide ground maintenance, including snow removal, landscape duties, and painting of parking areas
  • Install and maintain electrical wiring equipment and fixtures, and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical gear, generators, distribution panels, motors, building systems, and other equipment
  • Knowledge and skill to work with electrical gear, generators, distribution panels, motors, building systems, and other equipment up to 480V
  • Installation and removal of show sets
  • Administrative functions, including maintaining written daily activity logs, requesting and comparing cost-effective purchasing, and initiating purchase requisitions
  • Maintain sub-contractor and vendor records and other data as required to support and verify payments and documentation of work performed
  • Maintain, monitor, and adjust Building Management System
  • Maintain strong working relationships with outside contractors and vendors
  • Equipment operation, including forklifts, aerial lifts, snow removal equipment, power tools, and associated equipment
  • On-call status for building emergencies and inclement weather responsibilities
  • Assist Operations Crew as directed
  • Respond to promoter requests and event requirements
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations and ensure facility compliance

Requirements:



  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables
  • Skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical
  • Ability to work independently and display customer service through initiation of contact, smiling, extending handshakes, courteous, and friendly
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
  • Knowledge and skill to work with electrical gear, generators, distribution panels, motors, building systems, and other equipment up to 480V
  • Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and non-hazardous work environment
  • Ability to follow all lockout and tag out procedures
