We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tire Technician to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for assisting members in the selection and purchase of tires, properly installing and repairing tires, and maintaining a clean and professional tire bay.
Key Responsibilities- Tire Installation and Repair: Responsible for the proper installation of tires, including mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
- Tire Bay Maintenance: Maintains a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area, merchandises tire displays and automotive products.
- Member Service: Ensures that knowledgeable service is provided to members at the tire desk, coordinates with Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintains an accurate and complete supply inventory, understands and appropriately utilizes available special-order tire programs.
- Safety and Compliance: Complies with safety and cleanliness standards, properly utilizes tire bay equipment.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles required.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills required.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn basic computer skills required.
- Experience: Prior tire installation experience preferred.
- Certifications: Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. The majority of the time is spent standing and moving about continuously on hard surfaces, with frequent need to bend, climb, crawl, kneel, push, pull, reach, move side to side, stoop, and climb ladders/step stools.
