Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary School District. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing speech and language assessments and therapy to students with a variety of handicapping conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language assessments and therapy to students with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and behavioral dysfunction/disorders.
  • Determine eligibility for services and therapy, and develop individualized plans to meet the needs of each student.
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and Principals to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with regular and special education teachers to provide classroom intervention and support.
  • Design and implement augmentative communication systems, and train students, staff, and parents in their use.
  • Drive a vehicle to make regular home visits for infants, preschoolers, and students as needed to assess and implement speech and language therapy plans.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in speech pathology or a related field.
  • Valid Arizona Teaching Credential for Speech, Language, and Hearing.
  • Valid State driver's license.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment, and to drive a vehicle to conduct work. The successful candidate must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, and to bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch to assist children.
