EHS Compliance Specialist

Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions, Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental regulatory requirements and promoting a world-class safety and health culture.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety and environmental regulations, with experience in implementing and maintaining EHS programs. You will work closely with our business units to ensure that all environmental commitments are met, and provide leadership and guidance to our facilities on EHS matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote safe and healthy work practices
- Provide EHS leadership to company locations
- Help business units implement environmental programs
- Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential EHS hazards
- Coordinate with Ergon Corporate EHS and business units to ensure events are reported and investigated
- Train and coach facility management and employees on EHS responsibilities and requirements
- Consolidate and report EHS metrics and goals for regional plants
- Drive employee involvement and ownership in EHS activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Safety or other technical degree
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices
- Proven strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership, consultative, and influencing skills
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and solid analytical/problem-solving skills
- Able to travel extensively (estimated 65%)
