Job Summary:

The Dressing Table Operator - Food Preparation Specialist is a critical role at Steak n Shake, responsible for preparing and plating food for our service staff and drive-thru operator. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Dress, plate, and inspect food orders to ensure they are prepared to our high standards.
  • Order Coordination: Expedite and call orders to other operators to ensure timely delivery.
  • Station Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, restock supplies, and sanitize equipment as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to ensure seamless service.

Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Good vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and the ability to stand, bend, stretch, and walk throughout the shift.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Lift and transfer trays of food, and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Communication: Understandable speech and good verbal skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Maintain good personal hygiene and uniform, and work well under stress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Math and Reading Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations and read menus and instructions.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and able to retain verbal requests and menu preparation knowledge.
  • Motivation and Expeditor: Motivated and able to expedite orders efficiently.
