Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse - Cardiac Intermediate Full Time Nights to join our team. As a Cardiac Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our 26-bed cardiac step-down unit. Our team is dedicated to delivering world-class care and making a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of cardiovascular diagnoses, including post-cardiac surgeries and procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medication, and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in cardiac care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Cardiac Stepdown or similar unit.
- Additional preferences for the Emergency Room and Pediatric Emergency Room.
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.
- Emergency Communications Registered Nurse certification.
- Certified Pediatric Nurse certification.
- Certified Emergency Nurse certification.
