Job Summary:


The security officer plays a vital role in safeguarding and monitoring company assets and personnel against potential threats such as theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

Responsibilities include managing entry points, directing visitors, and conducting regular inspections of the premises to ensure security. The officer will also observe individuals leaving the premises to prevent theft and maintain detailed security logs. Coordination with local law enforcement may be necessary in certain situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a presence at a designated post or patrol the facility as needed.
  • Oversee CCTV and access control systems.
  • Respond to alarms from various security systems, including fire and safety panels.
  • Handle emergency calls from staff and coordinate the dispatch of necessary personnel.
  • Conduct after-hours patrols, inspecting both the interior and exterior of Draper facilities, and report any security or safety concerns.
  • Verify the identification of incoming employees and contractors, and issue visitor badges as required.
  • Escort visitors and contractors throughout the premises as necessary.
  • Ensure proper logging of company and personal property entering and exiting the facility.
  • Perform additional security-related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to remain stationary or mobile for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate stairs and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Effective communication skills and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and communication.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
  • Preferred certifications include First Responder, CPR, or AED.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, with an associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Additional Information:

Selected candidates may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
