- Contribute significantly to computational and bioinformatics strategies, executing analytical tasks and interpreting data throughout all phases of Research & Development (R&D).

- Innovate and conduct advanced computational analyses of multimodal datasets to yield significant insights on target identification and patient biomarker selection, utilizing population genetics and genomics data from extensive databases.

- Develop internal analytical capabilities for various omics data, including DNA sequencing, RNA sequencing, and single-cell RNA sequencing.

- Analyze diverse phenotypic and genomic datasets sourced internally and from public databases, including conducting association studies on complex phenotype-genotype data and extracting relevant clinical and phenotypic information.

- Explore opportunities to implement cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) techniques to address computational and bioinformatics challenges by integrating various data types, including omics, clinical, and real-world evidence (RWE).

- Engage with interdisciplinary project teams to facilitate effective decision-making through large-scale data mining and the development of predictive models.

- Integrate high-dimensional data such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), single-cell sequencing, metabolomics, and proteomics to support all R&D stages, contributing to the creation of databases and web portals for data retrieval and visualization.

- Stay informed on emerging statistical genomic methodologies, ML, and generative AI advancements.

- Collaborate across functions to enhance data interpretation and deliver actionable insights.

- Present scientific findings to both internal and external audiences.

- Work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.

- Establish best practices among Data Science analysts and contribute to the development of Data Science infrastructure.

Qualifications:
- PhD in computational biology or a related field; or a master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience.

- Proven experience with Next Generation Sequencing data, including genomic and transcriptomic data.

- Familiarity with statistical genomics techniques such as Bayesian inference, meta-analysis, heritability, and mixed models is preferred.

- Proficient in processing and analyzing high-dimensional RWE.

- Experience with data visualization tools and creating reproducible workflows, particularly with Unix, Git, and RMarkdown or Jupyter.

- Knowledge of AWS-backed cloud computing platforms and preferably DNAnexus.

- Familiarity with public omics data repositories (e.g., Gene Expression Omnibus, NCBI databases, Ensembl, dbGAP).

- Technical expertise in programming languages such as R and Python.

- Demonstrated experience in applying machine learning or deep learning algorithms in the health sector.

- Familiarity with conventional NGS analysis tools (e.g., BCFtools, VCFtools, PLINK, Regenie, GATK, bedtools) is advantageous.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to accountability and scientific rigor.

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to influence and drive decision-making.

- A deep curiosity about emerging trends in machine learning and generative AI.
