POSITION OVERVIEW AND DUTIES
The Advanced Physical Therapist is responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of effective and individualized treatment plans for patients referred for physical therapy. This role involves active participation in educational initiatives, administrative tasks, managerial responsibilities, and quality assurance activities. The therapist will deliver high-quality physical therapy services and maintain accurate documentation for all assigned patient cases in a timely manner. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Additionally, the therapist will engage in educational programs and may serve as a Clinical Instructor for physical therapy and assistant students at various levels. Supervision and evaluation of assigned staff or volunteers may also be part of the responsibilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required. A minimum of two years of experience in the field of physical therapy is essential. Preferred qualifications include supervisory and/or clinical teaching experience, along with additional clinical exposure. The candidate should meet the clinical and leadership competencies as outlined in the clinical ladder or an equivalent framework.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners is mandatory. The candidate must possess a valid AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider certification.
For Ambulatory Therapists, it is necessary to be a participating provider for Medicaid and Medicare or to be eligible for obtaining a Medicaid and Medicare provider number.
