Position: Arabic Language Educator

Location: Tampa, Florida

Life International Academy is on the lookout for outstanding educators specializing in Arabic instruction for non-native speakers to become part of our innovative founding team as we embark on our inaugural academic year.

As the first institution dedicated to Life-Based Skills Learning globally, we seek a dedicated Foreign Language Educator with a focus on elementary education. The ideal candidate will be a creative teacher eager to cultivate engaging and immersive language learning experiences while fostering collaboration, cultural appreciation, and student well-being. Additionally, the selected individual will contribute to the development of the school curriculum in alignment with the ACTFL standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute our Foreign Language program with captivating lessons that integrate life skills, ethical principles, and project-based learning elements in line with our life-centered educational approach. (Experience with Montessori methods is preferred.)
  • Leverage technology to create and implement lesson plans and develop semester and annual learning objectives focusing on personalized and differentiated instruction.
  • Utilize our curriculum development tools for precise design and coordination of the school's curriculum in accordance with ACTFL standards, showcasing proficiency in curriculum mapping.
  • Encourage a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes virtues, ethical standards, and global citizenship.
  • Collaborate with peers to design and implement interdisciplinary projects addressing real-world challenges, including environmental and global issues.
  • Evaluate student language proficiency and fluency through formative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Create Montessori materials and interactive language teaching resources to enhance the educational experience.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities related to teaching Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic to English speakers and contribute to the school's mission and vision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Teaching Certification, ESOL, or Montessori Training is advantageous.
  • A minimum of four years of teaching experience within the USA, demonstrating language proficiency.
  • Native or fluent speaker of the target language.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in using technology, including learning management systems such as Canvas, Google Education Suite, and Microsoft tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of international cultures, arts, crafts, and music related to the language.
  • Experience in proficiency-driven curriculum design and familiarity with ACTFL or CEFR frameworks is highly regarded.
  • All staff will undergo background checks and screening prior to their start date. Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in teaching foreign languages to English speakers.
  • Experience with immersion language teaching methodologies.
  • Proficiency in creative cultural and folkloric arts and music.
  • Training in ACTFL standards and methodologies.
  • Ability to create and develop lessons in accordance with foreign language standards.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various assessment methods.
  • Capability to develop curriculum and lesson plans using our educational software.

Compensation:

Starting full-time teacher salary ranges from $35,000 to $45,000 based on experience, qualifications, and degrees, with additional bonus opportunities for summer and break work. Higher compensation is available for upper grades and advanced qualifications.
