Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer III to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating models, drawings, and configurations of engine hardware with a focus on assemblies, precision machined parts, and source controlled items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain component and assembly product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs, and resolving design discrepancies.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
  • Implement engineering and manufacturing best practices to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Self-prioritize and self-schedule work activity in support of the team.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant design and drafting experience of structural parts, precision components, and subsystems using Creo/Wildfire/Pro-Engineer.
  • Proficient in Windchill and Creo View.
  • Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and great communication skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and integration processes for machined components and welded assemblies.
  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings.
  • Proficient with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41, etc.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design in disciplines such as propulsion, aircraft, spacecraft, oil & gas, automotive, naval, nuclear, or heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in Creo Piping.
  • Working knowledge of materials, machine design, mechanisms, and additive manufacturing (AM) techniques.
  • Extensive practice in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Rocket engine structural and fluid systems experience.
