Job Summary

As a Pilot - Fixed Wing Aircraft with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. You will be the final authority with regard to the operation of the aircraft and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Complete pre-flight checks to ensure the aircraft is airworthy
  • Participate in regular meetings and activities to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods policies
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience and/or training
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft)
  • Fixed wing multiengine rating is required for twin engine aircraft
  • Commercial single engine land is required for single engine aircraft
  • First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required
