Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Heritage Health - Idaho. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our providers in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Room patients, perform vital signs, and verify medication lists in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prep exam rooms and patients for procedures, including minor surgery, physicals, and female exams.
  • Remain in exam rooms for all pelvic, breast, rectal, or genital examinations.
  • Complete paperwork related to office visits, including lab requisitions, pathology forms, and WHC forms.
  • Clean examination rooms after each visit and at the end of each day.
  • Restock exam rooms weekly and as needed.
  • Call patients with lab and/or test results after provider review and approval.
  • Return all patient phone calls promptly, with same-day call-backs preferred.
  • Document critical lab values/test results when received via telephone and bring results and chart to provider.
  • Perform injections, vaccinations, finger-sticks, urinalysis, urine pregnancy testing, and urine drug screens as directed by provider.
  • Complete all documentation related to childhood vaccinations, including Vaccination record IRIS forms and parental consent/refusal forms.
  • Make referrals as requested by provider and complete Health Connection referrals for Medicaid patients.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests, including mammograms, echocardiograms, MRI, and CT scans.
Requirements
  • Completion of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant work experience and certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized organization (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT) or must obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of prior outpatient medical assistant experience preferred.
  • BLS or ACLS certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if hired for a float position.
