Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Regular Patrols: Execute circuit patrols in alignment with the annual Vegetation Management plan and established standards.
  • Tree Work Identification: Identify necessary tree maintenance along utility rights-of-way, prescribe appropriate actions, and document findings.
  • Property Owner Communication: Inform property owners and relevant agencies about upcoming tree work and secure necessary permissions.
  • Business Liaison: Act as a point of contact for new business opportunities and reconstruction projects.
  • Inspection Verification: Carry out inspections to verify the completion and quality of tree work performed.
  • Outage Investigation: Document and investigate tree-related outages, participating in outage meetings as required.
  • Management of VM Tags: Handle various Vegetation Management Tags, including tracking and notifying customers about non-routine locations.
  • Case Closure Support: Assist in the resolution of Customer Care and Billing cases in the field.
  • Emergency Response: Support emergency operations by dispatching tree crews and conducting site assessments.
  • Independent Task Completion: Work autonomously to fulfill tasks assigned by supervisors.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee vegetation projects, including tree assessments and trimming operations.
  • Safety Participation: Engage in contractor safety meetings and tailboard discussions.
  • Customer Relations: Represent the company in customer interactions, ensuring positive relations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Documentation: Complete both electronic and paper-based reports and documentation.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting maps.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of local tree species and their growth patterns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Accountability and personal responsibility.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to meet company driver acceptability standards.
  • Capability to operate a 4x4 truck or SUV.
Experience and Education:

Candidates should possess:

  • One year of experience in Utility Line Clearance Inspection,
  • AND one year of related arboricultural experience, OR
  • ISA Certified Arborist certification, OR
  • A 2-year or 4-year degree in a related field, AND
  • Approval from a PG&E Representative.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods outdoors.
  • Capability to walk and hike in various terrains.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and driving a 4x4 vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl as necessary.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
