Job Summary

bioMerieux is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Tech 2 to join our team in St Louis. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for the operation, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed manufacturing equipment in our FDA regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of specialized and highly automated production line equipment.
  • Complete preventive maintenance work orders prior to the completion due date.
  • Review and modify Line Maintenance work instructions as needed.
  • Maintain production equipment to run at required specifications.
  • Notify supervision of any PM inadequacies or parts shortages.
  • Perform component rebuilds as time allows.
  • Corrective/Urgent Maintenance
  • Follow proper procedures and techniques.
  • Quickly respond to line calls for machine repairs and adjustments.
  • Determine what tools are needed to effectively complete work orders.
  • Determine if the corrective maintenance job is one of a repetitive nature. If so, develop a process to eliminate the reoccurrence.
Requirements
  • Technical degree in a manufacturing technology discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment involving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic hardware.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining high-speed manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of understanding good manufacturing practices (GMP's), ISO, and quality system regulations is preferred.
Working Conditions

Standing, repetitive hand and arm motions at times, ability to climb steps. Lifting (up to 50Lbs) and moving containers of cartons, tubes, and materials. Operating within cool temperature and low humidity conditions within the production room. Constant noise is common due to the operation of the air-dry chamber, taping and pouching equipment.

Excellent personal hygiene required. Appropriate gowning requirements necessary for the production areas. Gloves are required to handle the product. Hairnet, clean room gowns and/or lab coats are required. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required personal protective gear.
