About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at UPMC West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, including the setup and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of patients to and from the operating room.
  • Participate in the preparation and care of patients for surgery, including the application of dressings and the handling of specimens.
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate records and reports, including the tracking of medications and supplies.
  • Provide support to the surgical team during procedures, including the passing of instruments and the maintenance of aseptic technique.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • 2 years of current surgical technician experience that demonstrates advanced knowledge of at least 2 surgical specialties.
  • Completion of a program sponsored by nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation and maintains certification or Has completed appropriate military training program or Maintains certification from accredited program or Was employed as a surg tech in a health care facility on or before effective date of the act (12/27/2020) or Employed as a surg tech at another health care facility two years before effective date (12/27/2020).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) OR Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC)
