Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

At Troon Golf, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the financial, accounting, and administrative activities of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and adhere to policies and procedures for the accounting function, ensuring compliance with company accounting standards.
  • Oversee accounting and administrative controls to safeguard the assets of the company, reducing theft and internal fraud.
  • Assist the General Manager in preparing and monitoring the annual budget, monitoring revenue goals, and generating business volume forecasts.
  • Monitor and coordinate property plans, projecting revenue, cost, net income, cash position, cash management, and capital requirements.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, identifying actual, budget, variance, and over/under based on the plan.
  • Perform or monitor daily revenue audits for revenue-generating departments.
  • Analyze various accounting reports, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and general ledger.
  • Monitor and manage property cash flow, coordinating the timing of issuing payments to vendors and alerting the General Manager and Regional Controller to cash flow problems.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review the closing of year-end books and records with the Regional Controller.
  • Recommend policies, procedures, processes, and controls based on analysis of current accounting processes.
  • Establish accounting protocols and workflows for the property, ensuring compliance with Troon Golf accounting standards.
  • Monitor contracts with facility vendors and ensure collection and payment of applicable local, state, and federal taxes.
  • Coordinate information for external CPAs for annual tax return preparations.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, collections, reconciliation, and record keeping.
  • Reconcile and audit petty cash, general bank accounts, and cash banks.
  • Manage Human Resource functions, including property hiring, maintaining employee files, processing new hires/terminations, annual wage analysis, and benefit review.
  • Responsible for training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manage department members, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Admin Assistant.
  • Assure effective orientation and training for new associates and develop ongoing training programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the Hospitality Industry a plus.
  • Experience with POS/Accounting software program a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently sits, uses hands, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.
  • Occasionally stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.

  • Noise level is moderate.

  • Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job.
