Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and diligent individual to fill the role of Plumbing Assistant. In this capacity, you will support our skilled HVAC and plumbing professionals in a variety of plumbing-related tasks and projects. Your primary duties will involve aiding plumbers with installations, repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics of plumbing systems. The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of plumbing systems, strong communication abilities, and a dedicated work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and upkeep of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
  • Prepare work areas by organizing necessary tools and supplies.
  • Excavate trenches and create access points as needed for plumbing work.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using the appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Help in the assembly and installation of plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.
  • Connect pipes using fittings, soldering, welding, or other approved methods.
  • Inspect plumbing systems and identify any defects or issues.
  • Assist in diagnosing plumbing problems and suggest suitable solutions.
  • Maintain cleanliness at job sites and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or hazards to your supervisor immediately.
  • Notify your supervisor of any violations of legislation or company policies.
  • Correct any substandard practices or conditions within your control.
  • Utilize and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Do not remove or disable any safety devices or equipment.
  • Follow all general safety rules as outlined by company procedures.
  • Operate equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and committees.
  • Report all injuries or incidents as per company procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of safety initiatives to minimize risks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in plumbing or construction is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dedicated work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Reliable and punctual with excellent time management abilities.
  • Capability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.

Working Environment:

  • This role requires physical strength and stamina for manual labor tasks.
