Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversees individuals in custody in compliance with agency regulations and standards.
  2. Monitors individuals in custody and communicates behavioral observations to other professional team members.
  3. Participates in ongoing training to enhance skills and improve effectiveness in delivering specialized services to individuals in custody.
  4. Ensures individuals in custody receive necessary and appropriate medical care.
  5. Keeps assigned areas safe, clean, and orderly.
  6. Facilitates and supervises the movement of individuals in custody to various locations, including correctional facilities, courts, and hospitals.
  7. Performs additional duties as assigned that are within the scope of the responsibilities outlined above.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Successful completion of the Corrections Treatment Officer Training Program is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of behavioral issues and interventions to promote appropriate conduct is preferred.
  2. Understanding of mental health treatment or developmental disabilities is preferred.
Employment Conditions
  1. Physical capability to perform assigned duties is required.
  2. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel statewide are necessary.
  3. Must be able to carry a firearm.
  4. Must successfully pass the IDOC/IDJJ background investigation.
  5. Must pass a drug screening; unauthorized drug use is prohibited.
  6. Compliance with all vaccine and medical standards set by the employer is required.
