Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Chemist - Lab Technician to join our team at System One. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for performing lab duties, including formulation scale up, reproducing liquid formulations under SOP, and maintaining inventory of lab development lacquer bases and ingredients.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform lab basic duties of formulation scale up, reproduce liquid formulations under SOP
* Maintain inventory of lab development lacquer bases and ingredients in the laboratory
* Evaluate raw materials performance and color in designated formulations
* Assist in R&D functions which require formulation development, optimization and and scale up
* Assist R&D Director to develop internal good lab practices, data recording

Requirements

* Associate Degree or BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
* At least 1 year of lab experience and or Scale up/pilot lab environment
* Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand long periods of time of up to 8 hours
* Safe lab practices oriented, able to work in solvent based formulations
* Good organization skills
* Follows instructions and quick learner
* Independent, resourceful and results oriented
* Able to communicate effectively in English with colleagues
* Team player
* Versed in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word and Email

Nice to Have

* Experience in working in lab R&D or scale up pilot lab environment in developing color solvent based lacquer formulations or color cosmetics
* Experience in developing new formulations and optimizing formulations with effect pigments, pearlescent pigments, absorption pigments
* Adept in Evaluating new Raw materials in model formulations
* Curious and think outside box
* Analytical and critical thinking
