Job Title: Facility Safety Specialist

At American Commercial Barge Line, we are seeking an experienced Facility Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring facility safety and compliance with OSHA and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular facility safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to create and conduct internal audits and inspections.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement safety improvement plans to improve safety results and culture within ACBL.
Requirements:
  • Shipyard or terminal experience is desired.
  • Well-versed in USCG and OSHA legislation and regulation, including GHS.
  • Must have or pass OSHA HAZWOPER and ICS, 700 and 800 courses and maintain those certifications.
  • Must maintain valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be available for regular overnight travel on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, and Health, or related field.
  • 5+ years of related to Occupational Health and Safety experience, specifically related to OSHA regulatory requirements.
