Job Summary

The General Service Technician at Mr. Tire Auto Service Centers is an entry-level Automotive Technician position that offers a comprehensive mechanic training program. As a key team member, you will perform maintenance services on guest vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
  • Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
  • Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  • Perform general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition and maintained to company standards for cleanliness.
  • Consistently perform services in accordance with safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles in accordance with company policies, utilizing dedicated test drive routes while maintaining local traffic and safety laws.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities through timely completion of required training courses and modules.
  • Operate, utilize, and maintain equipment in a safe manner, in accordance with company and equipment manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training, including basic car maintenance and repair, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license (where applicable) preferred.
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and the ability to operate customer's vehicles to conduct test drives.
  • Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in the company's tool purchase program.

  • Automotive Technician or Lube and Tire experience.
