Position Overview
GeorgiaGov is in search of a dedicated full-time faculty member to fulfill the role of CNA/PCT Coordinator and Instructor. This position involves not only the coordination and instruction of CNA/PCT programs but also the potential to teach within the broader health sciences curriculum. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering both theoretical and practical training, equipping students with the essential skills needed for successful careers in health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and regulations set forth by the Georgia Department of Community Health.
- Design, implement, and facilitate classes, working both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Create comprehensive lesson plans for courses related to nurse aide and patient care technician training.
- Develop and oversee curriculum, conducting assessments as required.
- Assess course effectiveness through analysis of student performance data and feedback from graduates and employers.
- Assist in the formulation of the annual program budget.
- Prepare reports and respond to information requests from various departments and agencies.
- Lead the advisory committee for the nurse aide program.
- Engage in college-wide committees and meetings.
- Collaborate with fellow educators on shared curriculum initiatives.
- Instruct students while establishing program objectives and outcomes.
- Support recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
- Recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty members.
- Manage scheduling for adjunct faculty.
- Order and maintain necessary equipment and supplies.
- Advise and assist health sciences students with registration.
- Stay informed on current trends and advancements in the field through ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of GeorgiaGov, ensuring professional interactions with students.
- Comply with established standards of practice.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of two years of RN experience in patient care or teaching within the last seven years.
- At least one year of RN experience in a long-term care setting.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Georgia.
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
- Valid driver's license and necessary insurability.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
- Flexibility to teach day or evening classes and conduct clinical rotations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Instructor certification for AHA CPR and First Aid.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably Blackboard.
- Prior teaching experience in a nursing curriculum.
Physical Demands:
This role involves both classroom and clinical responsibilities.
