Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital (STJ). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for evaluating patient outcomes, making changes to the plan of care, and providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and make changes to the plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide explanation/instructions to patients and/or responsible persons and ensure understanding regarding respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures, and discharge.
  • Accept reassignment to other units when necessary.
  • Share clinical knowledge with staff and students and serve as a role model for clinical practice.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care.
  • Provide respiratory care as ordered by physician, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates degree required.
  • Licenses and Certification: RRT, Illinois License, BLS, NRP-MHC.
