Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the operation of material handling equipment, performing preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to commercial equipment and property. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance and be able to work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate fork trucks to perform daily tasks, load wood compactors, move scrap metals, and clean outside staging areas.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance of cranes, dock equipment, material handling equipment, HVAC equipment, fire protection equipment, and other commercial equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs as needed, including painting and patching, ceiling tile replacement, plumbing work, lamp replacement, floor repair, and other tasks.
  • Assist with department moves and equipment setup.
  • Perform manual tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Support client satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate communication about request status.
  • Perform building inspections and report equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Manage time wisely and remain productive while working independently.
  • Work required hours and be available during non-work hours as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to five years of facilities maintenance experience, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain forklift and man lift licenses.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra and geometry, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Physical Demands

The employee will regularly walk, sit, stand, or talk or hear. The employee will frequently reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee will occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

The employee will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
