KPC Promise Healthcare - Wound Care Nurse: The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care, focusing on the assessment and management of complex wounds, including but not limited to pressure ulcers, fistulas, and skin breakdown. This role involves the collection and analysis of performance metrics and productivity data to ensure quality improvement in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to discuss patient wound conditions and identify barriers to discharge.
  • Implement and oversee care plans for patients with draining wounds and incontinence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of patient progress and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current state nursing license with compliance to renewal standards.
  • Preferred certifications in wound care and sharp debridement procedures.
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency with minimal supervision.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Physical: Walking (up to 50%), Standing (up to 75%), Kneeling (up to 10%), Sitting (up to 25%), Pushing (up to 10%), Bending (up to 25%), Squatting (up to 10%), Pulling (up to 10%), Reaching (up to 35%), Lifting (up to 50 lbs), Wrist/Finger Movements (up to 90%).

Mental: Moderate to high stress levels.

Exposure Risk: Category I - This position involves tasks that may expose the nurse to blood, body fluids, and tissues, necessitating the use of appropriate safety measures.

Equipment Used: Wound irrigation systems, wound vacuums, specialty beds, IV pumps, and standard office equipment.

Certifications: BLS, CWS, and/or WOCN preferred.
