Job Summary

The role of the Registered Nurse is to provide compassionate and respectful care to patients, upholding their dignity and well-being. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advocacy: Supporting patients' wishes and promoting their health and well-being.
  • Leadership: Overseeing and delegating tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and ancillary staff.
  • Documentation: Conducting thorough assessments and coordinating nursing plans of care.
  • Collaboration: Working with the care team to coordinate patient care.
  • Education: Educating patients and staff on medical conditions, procedures, and medications.
  • Treatment Administration: Initiating treatments as ordered by physicians, evaluating outcomes, and documenting results.
  • Medication Administration: Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

As an Essential Services Personnel member, you are expected to report to work under all circumstances, including inclement weather conditions and holidays. You will adhere to established shift schedules and directives from supervisors.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • An Associate's degree with a current valid New York State license, including all necessary certifications for renewal.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care setting.
  • CPR certification.
  • Working knowledge of infection control practices, including flu and COVID protocols.
  • Computer literacy, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with palliative care and/or hospice care is preferred.
