We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Implement and evaluate care, ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of services.
- Assist with the care of patients during anesthesia induction and prepare patients for local anesthesia.
- Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
- Perform correct surgical preps and accurately document patient care.
- Demonstrate competency for all surgical specialties and equipment.
- Participate in staff and self-development, and assist with the orientation of new employees.
- Complete annual department competencies.
- 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
- 1 year of experience as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse is preferred.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
