Position Overview

As a Cannon Artillery Technician in the Army National Guard, you will be part of a critical unit that ensures the U.S. maintains its tactical advantage on the battlefield. Responsibilities

• Execute wire and radio communications effectively
• Determine and identify target locations with precision
• Set up, load, and fire artillery systems
• Utilize computer systems to produce fire direction data
• Operate both heavy and light wheeled trucks as well as tracked vehicles
• Manage and transport artillery ammunition safely
• Ensure operational readiness of all vehicles and equipment
• Engage in reconnaissance missions as needed

You will gain familiarity with cutting-edge technology while developing strategic thinking and leadership skills that are highly sought after in the civilian job market.

Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs to acquire these skills, you will earn a salary while training. In the Army National Guard, you will receive valuable training while earning a consistent paycheck and qualifying for educational assistance.

Training for a Cannon Artillery Technician includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental soldiering skills, followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which lasts seven weeks. This training includes both classroom instruction and field exercises under simulated combat scenarios.

Requirements
