Job Overview:
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a skilled Technical Control Specialist who possesses a strong background in service restoration aligned with established policies at both local and higher levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting patch and test services, as well as providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for various technical control devices.Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely restoration of services in compliance with organizational policies.
- Operate and maintain fixed and deployable IT systems, including transmission systems and associated hardware and software.
- Perform patch and test services effectively.
- Deliver Tier I/II support for technical control devices across multiple networks, including voice, data, radio, fiber optic, satellite, and secure communications.
- Collaborate with critical IT sections to execute tasks related to troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation of new services.
- Manage the opening, tracking, and closing of tickets for circuit outages and support requests.
- Maintain a Master Station Log and provide daily updates on circuit status.
- Document and coordinate circuit outages and authorized system interruptions with relevant agencies.
- Configure and maintain cryptographic equipment as required.
- Conduct regular monitoring of circuits and networks, performing inspections throughout the facility.
Additional Duties:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather system requirements and design integrated solutions that fulfill performance objectives.
- Work alongside software developers and system administrators to implement integration interfaces and APIs.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of integrated systems, addressing any identified issues.
- Document integration processes, including configuration settings and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Provide ongoing technical support during deployment and post-deployment phases.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on integration strategies.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing meetings and workshops related to systems integration.
- Support teams with Service Delivery strategies and collaborate with operations to deploy capabilities across the environment.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to facilitate strategic technology insertion and lifecycle management of IT hardware.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Applicable DoD or DoD Certification.
Desired:
- Microsoft certifications.
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.
Required Skills:
- Experience in systems planning and coordination of IT systems.
- Ability to expand or modify existing systems to enhance functionality.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and/or virtual environments.
- Establishing standards for information systems procedures.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with USCENTCOM and its mission.
- Knowledge of USCENTCOM's IT environment.
Clearance Requirement:
- Active TS/SCI clearance is necessary.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires full-time commitment with potential travel obligations.
