Role Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide exceptional patient care at our community health center. This role is crucial in supporting our busy primary care practice, which encompasses adult care, pediatrics, and women's health services. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in assisting healthcare providers by preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, administering injections, performing blood draws, and supporting various medical procedures.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Current Basic Life Support or CPR certification
  • Previous experience in a Medical Assistant role is preferred
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are mandatory

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Ability to perform a variety of healthcare tasks and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven skills in taking patient histories and vital signs
  • Experience in performing venipuncture and conducting laboratory tests
  • Competence in administering vaccinations
  • Familiarity with primary care health and safety standards
  • Understanding of confidentiality protocols and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficient in MS Office and data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Compassionate demeanor and capacity to manage stress effectively

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for consultations by gathering and documenting medical histories, vital signs, and reasons for visits.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Administer injections as required.
  • Conduct visual and auditory assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic laboratory procedures.
  • Carry out venipuncture and laboratory tests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to patient care.
