Job Summary:As a Developmental Psychologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations for patients with various neurodevelopmental disorders. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will plan and direct individualized treatment programs to address the unique needs of each patient.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough neurodevelopmental evaluations to identify and diagnose developmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Global Developmental Delays.
Prepare detailed written assessment reports, including diagnostic impressions and recommendations for intervention. Provide consultation to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on neurodevelopmental issues, including psychotherapy and family consultation. Develop and implement treatment plans, including direct intervention and program development, to address the needs of patients with complex medical and psychological/psychosocial needs. Participate in clinical activities with developmental pediatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. May provide clinical supervision to doctoral psychology interns, postdoctoral psychology fellows, and other mental health trainees or medical residents as necessary.Requirements:
Minimum one (1) year doctoral internship with training in human development/neurodevelopment.
Minimum two (2) or more years within the past five (5) years of work experience and/or training specific to assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders. An equivalent combination of training, supervision, and experience as identified in #1 and #2 to be considered on a case-by-case basis. Doctorate degree in Psychology from an American Psychological Association accredited (or equivalent) doctoral program. Academic courses should reflect didactic and experimental training in neuropsychology and psychopathology. Psychologist License (California) required at hire. National Provider Identifier required at hire. Additional Requirements: Documented experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a psychiatric, pediatric, and/or neurodevelopmental setting. Competency with administering and interpreting gold standard assessment measures and providing diagnostic clarification related to neurodevelopmental disorders, without supervision. Knowledge of community agencies and resources. Knowledge of state regulations and APA standards as they relate to client treatment, patient rights, client/patient confidentiality, and other ethical issues. Demonstrated ability to function independently without direct clinical supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
